Friday Creature

If you're a fan of Fibonacci numbers or logarithmic spirals, you're going to love this week's creature! It's a nautilus, great mathematician of the deep and living fossil! These are the cephalopods who make those wonderful chambered shells with the pearly iridescent interiors.

As for your weekly DP update: Dear Puppy had another rough week. The meds had her stomach so upset that she finally had to quit the cure. We're going to see how her body does on its own -- hopefully she was far enough along in the healing process so that she can finish up without the medication. We've got our regular meeting with the vet this afternoon.

And that takes care of the creatures for your Friday! Have a fantastic weekend. Take care and say hi to the critters on the ark when you can!

I'm not only a fan of Fibonacci numbers, I practically try to live by them. And some of the most fascinating musical studies I ever pursued were of compositions by Béla Bartók and, many years earlier, Jacob Obrecht.

I blame it all on this guy who used to come talk about really cool philosophical stuff in a coffee shop where I worked, who recommended that I read The Seven Mysteries of Life by Guy Murchie.
